The Less Stress More Success series of revision guides published by Gill & Macmillan are available at both Junior and Leaving cert levels and are designed to help you get the best results you can in your exams.

At Leaving Cert the following guides are available: Art History, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Geography, History, Home Economics, Music and Physics. These books are specifically designed to cater for both the ordinary and higher level exams while the following subjects have two separate guides for higher and ordinary level: English, French, German, Irish and Maths. In addition, there are two maths guides for higher level which cater for paper 1 and paper 2 exams respectively. There is also a guide for Accounting designed for the higher level exam only.

All of the books are written by experienced teachers and professionals whose goal is to help you get the best results in your exams and know how to apply yourselves and the knowledge of the subject you’ve acquired in the right way so as to get maximum points per question in your exams.

The books themselves are presented in an attractive and appealing manner – almost inviting you to look inside – a cunning disguise to get you studying! But you will not be disappointed – the structure of the books is clear, cohesive and doesn’t leave any area of the subject syllabi uncovered. At times the text can be quite dense but it is thorough in its approach and provides chapters that lead nicely into one another. They are very accessible books that give structure to your revision, guiding you through course content and topics, past and sample exam questions and model answers that show you how to get maximum marks per question. In addition to dealing with course specifics, all guides also provide general exam advice, technique tips and support that is applicable to all exams regardless of subject or level. The aim is for you to adopt these revision and exam techniques as a means to ensure that you always perform well in exams and are able to achieve your best results.

The books designed for languages (such as Irish, French and German) also include audio exam material in the form of CDs for oral and aural exam practice. This is designed to complement your learning and works in relation to the book as well as on its own. The revision guides do what the title of the series says: they organise all the material you need into an easy-to-manage revision guide making your load lighter and eliminating unnecessary stress and paving the way for a more successful examination performance.

The books provide a vehicle through which you can ‘re-vise’ your subject in the sense that you are both ‘looking again’ and also seeing things in a new and improved way. Happy revising!
