Limerick College of Further Education is a long-established, state-funded and administered further education college.

It is one of many centres of education run by Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board. LCFE was known until 2008 as Limerick Senior College.

LCFE offers Further Education (Post Leaving Certificate)  programmes and Professional qualifications in a variety of  disciplines and caters for approximately 1200 full-time and 3000  part-time learners. Its campuses are situated in the South-East of  the city on Mulgrave Street (a short distance from the city centre)  and also in East Limerick at Cappamore.

Limerick College of Further Education aims to provide high quality internationally-recognised educational programmes, delivered in a  modern dynamic environment by a highly qualified and committed  team of teachers. Programmes are accredited by a number of  prestigious validating bodies. The approval of LCFE by these bodies  is a further benchmark of the high quality of courses, facilities,  tuition and support structures on offer.

Computer Applications (Continuation)

This programme is suitable for individuals who want to learn IT techniques that include basic data entry, word, internet and management.

English as a Second Language (Advanced)

This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to further improve their skills in English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation at an advanced level in the English language in standard social, cultural and or work environments.

English as a Second Language (Beginners)

This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to develop skills in English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation through practical exercises in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

English as a Second Language (Continuation)

This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to improve their skills in English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation at a continuation level.

Spanish/German (Beginners)

This programme is suitable for individuals wishing to develop conversational skills to speak , German or Spanish.

Spanish/German/Italian (Intermediate)

This programme is suitable for individuals with a knowledge of the chosen language who wish to develop more conversational Spanish, Italian, German or French for leisure and tourism. The programme is based on spoken activities, tapes and readings.

Graphic Design Skills

This programme is suitable for individuals who want to build a graphic design portfolio to enter art college, take a step towards working as a designer, or learn design skills to improve their design/marketing communications within their organisation. This programme is delivered using state of the art industry standard facilities.

Irish For Beginners

This programme is suitable for individuals wishing to develop conversational skills in spoken Irish or to gain an introductory qualification. Tuition will be conducted in a relaxed setting with emphasis on the oral aspects of the Irish language.

Italian (Beginners)

This programme is suitable for individuals wishing to develop conversational skills in basic Italian

Sign Language (Basic)

This programme is suitable for individuals who wish to develop skills in Irish Sign Language for effective communication with deaf and hard of hearing relatives, employees and customers in a variety of situations.

Spanish/Italian (Beginners Plus)

This programme is for individuals who already have some basic knowledge of the Spanish / Italian language and who wish to improve and develop their communication skills further. The programme will involve activities in speaking, reading, writing and listening.
