Entry Requirements | -Leaving Certificate with five passes in Ordinary Level papers. (Passes to include English/ and either Mathematics or Accountancy) or Leaving Certificate with four passes of which at least two are in Higher Level papers. (Passes to include English and either Mathematics or Accountancy) or Learners who are sitting the Applied Leaving Certificate or who wish to apply as Mature applicants (23+) should contact: info@kerrycollege.ie for further information. -Competent written and spoken English (CEFR B1 or Higher). -Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland. ADDITIONAL -Previous experience in book-keeping or accountancy desirable. -Experience in using web based learning is an advantage. |
Carear Path | Accounting Technicians enjoy excellent employment and career prospects. This skillset is in demand across large and small companies in all sectors of the economy to perform a variety of financial roles from financial accounting to budgeting, costing, credit control, payroll and tax returns. Graduates of this course are well positioned to seek employment in a variety of accounts jobs, particularly in jobs that require multi-skilled, flexible and adaptable personnel. The Accounting Technician Course is for employment and as such some relevant work experience will be required. This occurs after the exams are over usually the end of May or early June. The duration of the work experience can vary (subject to exam dates), ideally three to four weeks. This enables the learner to gain some practical experience based on what they have studied in class. It is advisable to have this obtained before course starts. Relevant work experience could be in an accounting practice, an accounts department of a business be it in the retail, hospitality, industry or other organisations. |
