On occasion, non-certified awards can be taken into consideration as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) when applying for further certified study. Alternatively, certain courses might be technical in nature or might be accredited by an Awarding Body not recognised on the NFQ. Others are non-NFQ certificates for those who wish to broaden their knowledge or skills in a particular area.
