Courses That Award: Level 2 Certificate

The National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) is a system of ten different levels. Each level (and corresponding qualification) has a connection to education or training achievement. Level 2 Certificates are designed to assist learners, both young and old, including those with intellectual and other disabilities, adults returning to training, and learners with not many previous qualifications. These awards provide certification for learners who may progress to higher levels and also for those whose principal achievements rest at these levels. Each certificate is made up of a number of components, which could mean basic literacy and numeracy, where the learner can achieve at their own pace and accumulate the awards over time towards one of the named certificates above. Awards with the NFQ level 2 to 3 are the equivalent of the junior cycle in secondary school.
