When it comes to business, image is everything. This is where a public relations officer comes in. No matter what the industry, successful PR is all about maintaining a positive relationship between your organisation, company, or client and the public. This can be achieved by communicating a chosen message through a number of platforms, print, social media, adverts, or events. The vast majority of organisations can, and do, implement PR techniques, be they charities, government bodies, collectives, SMEs or multinationals, as do many public-facing individuals such as CEOs, politicians, influencers, authors or celebrities. In fact, PR officers have a variety of duties beside towing the company line. They assist in the creation of interest in the media as well as produce publicity material. They manage events and conferences, making sure at all times that they work in tandem with the goals of their clients.
