Applicants who are currently in receipt of a Social Welfare payment may continue to receive that payment for the duration of the course.

Course Structure

The course will be a blend of in person college classes combined with a work placement with a media company’

Start Date: September 2026

Completion Date: June 2027

Course Content

QQI Level 6:

  • Television Studio Production
  • Editing Practice and Techniques
  • Production Management for TV & Film
  • Film and Television Camera and Lighting
  • Work Practices

Industry Workshops, Guest Speakers and Field Trips are part of the course.

 

Why Should You Apply?

This course will give you the opportunity to gain work placement with major media companies in Ireland and train in technical media production skills. It is a fully funded training programme which includes software, equipment, guest speakers, industry certification and excursions. Work and Train with likeminded media professionals in an exciting environment while gaining the skills to enable you to work in the TV & Film industry.

Fees/Allowance

There are no fees for Traineeship courses. You could be entitled to Travel or a Meal Allowance. If you are on a Department of Social Welfare payment you may be able to continue to receive your payments, you should check with your DSP officer.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should have previous media experience or a QQI L5 or equivalent qualification in a relevant area.

Applicants will be called for interview and should present a portfolio of media related work. For example, short videos, TikToks, Social media content, photographs, scripts etc.

Applicants must have a willingness to learn on the job and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Applicants whose first language is not English may be asked to complete an English proficiency test prior to acceptance.
