Vocalise is a social enterprise run by students at Enactus DCU that empowers young people with public speaking and confidence skills. This year Vocalise are running a Virtual Communications Camp to help young people deal with the fear of public speaking.

Enactus is a social entrepreneurship society that enables third level students to develop bright business ideas and change the world with them. In May, Enactus DCU won the Enactus Ireland National Competition for the 6th time. They did so with their two main projects Dyslex.ie and Vocalise.  Enactus DCU will go forward to represent Ireland at the Enactus World Cup this coming September.

Vocalise uses communication & presentation skills to stand out from the rest and want to pass on their passion for communication to more young people.  Their aim is to take the stress out of presentations by empowering students with the necessary skills.  This is done through fun and engaging content to impact and improve communication skills in a relaxed, natural, and inclusive way.  They deliver a highly targeted programme, written specifically for young people and delivered by young relatable communication mentors.

This year Vocalise are running a Virtual Communications Camp from the 26th-28th August, to keep young people engaged.

This is a unique perspective on how to tackle the fear of public speaking with a 3 day online summer course for students aged between 16- 18. For those going to college in the near future, the requirement to be able to speak in public will be sooner than they may have anticipated.  The curriculum has been developed alongside DCU lecturers and career guidance counsellors from various schools to ensure the highest level of quality in materials and teaching methods.

The course will involve different activities and speakers who will discuss the topics of communication, future leaders and change-makers, and finally development and delivery.  On the final day, the students will work on presenting their own topics and speak in front of their peers and the team.
