UCD School of Art History & Cultural Policy present its Annual Alumni Lecture taking place on Dec 3, 2020 06:30 PM in Dublin. This year the speaker is Oriole Cullen, Curator of Modern Textiles and Fashion, V&A Museum.

Oriole will discuss the ‘Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams’ exhibition she recently curated at the V&A, look at the history of exhibiting fashion within the Museum, and explore the issues around the recent boom in ‘blockbuster’ fashion exhibitions with Dior as a case study.

Oriole Cullen is a curator. Cullen is Head of Modern Textiles and Fashion at the Victoria and Albert museum, London. In 2019, Cullen curated the museum’s Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition. In 2009, Cullen co-curated Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones with Stephen Jones at the Victoria and Albert museum and authored the accompanying publication.

Prior to this, Cullen worked as curator for Dress and Decorative Arts at the Museum of London where she co-curated The London Look: Fashion from Street to Catwalk (2004).
