Third-level & PLC Qualifications & Certification - Junior Certificate

The Junior Certificate is a Level 3 award on the NFQ. This award is given to learners who’ve successfully passed their examinations from the junior cycle. This is usually when they have completed the first three years of secondary education. When they have finished the Junior Certificate, this will lead on to the Leaving Certificate or, alternatively, to a programme leading to a Level 4 Certificate or higher. This qualification is awarded by the State Examinations Commission (Department of Education and Skills).
