Students hoping to pursue Graduate Entry to Medicine should note that the GAMSAT (Graduate Medical School Admissions Test) will take place from Friday, 20 March to Sunday, 22 March 2026.
The GAMSAT is a key requirement for graduates who wish to apply for medicine through the Central Applications Office (CAO) system. The exam assesses the academic abilities and reasoning skills needed to study medicine at postgraduate level.
Designed for candidates who already hold an undergraduate degree, the GAMSAT evaluates knowledge and aptitude across several areas, including reasoning in humanities and social sciences, written communication, and biological and physical sciences. The results are used by participating universities as part of the selection process for Graduate Entry Medicine programmes.
Applicants planning to sit the test in March should ensure they are fully prepared in advance, as GAMSAT scores play a significant role in determining eligibility for medicine places in Ireland and internationally.
Further information on application procedures and important deadlines can be found through the Central Applications Office, which manages the application process for many higher education programmes in Ireland.
