Entry Requirements | Applicants must be 18 years old (minimum) on entry to course Junior Certificate standard or its equivalent Required to swim 400m in under 9 minutes Garda Vetting is required Excellent communication & interpersonal skills Good numeracy skills Basic computer skills Competent written and spoken English (CEFR Level B1 or higher) Surfing experience Previous experience in team-based outdoor pursuits is desirable Working with groups is desirable Membership of sports clubs or teams is desirable Mature applicant route available Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland |
Carear Path | Participation in water based sports and in particular surfing is on the increase in Ireland. This has led to an increase in the demand for highly skilled and qualified Surfing Instructors. Graduates will seek employment in a surfing schools or activity centres on our coastline. Other graduates may decide to seek employment as Beach Lifeguards. |
