Gaiety School of Acting trains actors for theatre, film and television with courses in acting.

Gaiety School of Acting offers a two-year intensive acting course, an MA in Theatre Practice with UCD and an extensive selection of part-time and tailored courses for adults, teenagers, children and overseas students. The school of acting has been providing professional actor training for almost 30 years. Graduates of Gaiety School of Acting include Colin Farrell, Olivia Wilde, Colin O Donoghue, Aidan Turner (Best Male Newcomer, Jameson Empire Awards 2014), Eva Birthistle (Best Actress Lead Television Award, IFTA 2014) Charlie Murphy (Best Actress, The Irish Times Awards 2013) and Sarah Greene (Tony Award Nominee 2014) as alumni of distinction.

The school has developed and expanded to over 2000 students, all involved in a wide range of acting courses from our intensive two year full time actor training programme to a range of acting courses available to students from overseas. These acting courses include The Original Theatre Project, our one-month Irish Theatre Summer School and our three-week January or May Irish Theatre programmes.

The Gaiety School of Acting is based in the centre of Dublin city’s cultural quarter, Temple Bar. Our range of part time courses take place at many other centres around the country.
